The Brazilian War for Independence
The “Brazilian war for Independence”, was a battle between the beginning of the Brazilian Empire, United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and Algarves. Starting from “Rio de Janeiro” and “Lisbon”, opposing empires saw this as a threat and tried to stop them. After years of war the Portuguese garrison surrendered and the new Empire of Brazil was born.
Who started the War for Independence? Dom Pedro the First, once the prince to the Kingdom of Portugal, now the new Emperor of Brazil. During his trip in Brazil, he was summoned back to Portugal but refused. This displeased the Portuguese King John VI, and then began the war for Brazil's independence, but also gained influence with the people of Brazil. |
